This is one of two large triangular warehouses located on the steep site between Elliott and Western avenues at the foot of Denny Way. It is a concrete warehouse/light industrial structure with large expanses of windows. The east elevation has large ramps providing vehicle access to the top story. These were known as the Northwest Industrial Buildings, with a variety of warehouse and light industrial uses such as Northwestern Paper Box Company, machine and wood shops, printers and manufacturers representatives for companies such as amusement devices, beer dispensers, phonographs, chemicals, ink, etc. In 2000 the buildings were remodeled for studios and other service or design businesses. The remodeling included replacing nearly all the original metal sash with modern aluminum sash, significantly altering the building’s original character. The ramps, a key characteristic of the buidlign and its previous uses, have been extensively landscaped.
