Summary for 1100 E FIR ST E / Parcel ID 2197600591 / Inv # 0

Historic Name: Common Name:
Style: American Foursquare, Queen Anne Neighborhood: First Hill
Built By: Year Built: 1904
Queen Anne style window sashes characterized this simple foursquare design when built. The structure’s design integrity has been somewhat compromised by minor alterations to the porch and the replacement of the window sashes with vinyl components.

This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property; however, J. P. Mullen apparently owned the house from about 1929 until at least 1937. It appears the structure was acquired by Hiroshi Nakayama in 1948 and then by Sanetomo Kaneko in 1955. Paul Jeney purchased the property from Lois T. Kaneko in January 2006. Andrew Knudson, Jr and Steve West acquired the property in a multi-step transaction from Jeney in August 2008. The current owner, Pontius Partners LLC acquired the property in through a quit claim deed from Knudson and West in 2008.
