Summary for 113 Dexter AVE / Parcel ID 1991201025 / Inv #

Historic Name: 113 Dexter Avenue North Common Name: KEXP Radio
Style: Commercial, Other - Utilitarian Neighborhood: South Lake Union
Built By: Year Built: 1945
113 Dexter Avenue North is a typical warehouse building and was completed in 1945. It is simple and unadorned and its most interesting exterior feature is the raised, stepped parapet. While the basic shape and wall materials have been retained, the storefronts and entry have been altered to such an extent that, although the building ties in with the other warehouse buildings from the 1920s to the early 1950s, it is no longer particularly architecturally significant.
Located north of the northwest corner of Dexter Avenue North and Denny Way, this is a one story building. It has concrete block walls and a raised stepped parapet fronting on Dexter Avenue North. Behind the parapet the roof appears to be curved and probably has bow trusses on the interior. Symmetrically composed, the Dexter Avenue North fa├žade is divided into three bays: two storefronts on low sills flank a central doorway. Both the storefront and entry hardware and glazing have been significantly altered and modernized.
