This house is a good example of late 19th/early 20th century vernacular housing. It contributes to our knowledge of the architectural and residential development of Seattle and it and its setting contribute to the historic streetscape. Further evaluation of this house may yield additional information regarding the rich ethnic history of this historically Japanese/American and Italian/American neighborhood.
This hsoue is a variation of the traditional one and 1/2 story gable front vernacular house type. It is characterized by a full width recessed porch under which is a shallow bay window. Four one over one windows form another shallow bay window at the second level. Horizontal siding with wood shingles in the gable add surface detail.
