It's rather elegant architectural detail bespeaks its location on Renton Hill. It enhances our knowledge of neighborhood development in Seattle. It appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn Map. By 1937 it was the East Union Market.
This building is a commercial vernacular interpretation of the American Foursquare. It has a low hipped roof with wide, open eaves. The focal point is a second floor corner bay over a cutaway corner entrance supported by a massive square column. The storefront is currently covered.
