Historic Name: Unknown Common Name:
Style: Queen Anne Neighborhood: Central Area

In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).
This house embodies many of the distinctive characteristics of the Queen Anne style and despite alterations contributes to our knowledge of residential development in Seattle and to the historic streetscape. It appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn Map. George M. Vaas owned the property sometime early in the century.
In its original condition, this house displayed all the decoration usually associated with the Queen Anne style including patterned shingles, multipaned decorative windows and sawnwork. It retains its identifying form; that is a steeply hipped roof with gable projections, asymmetrical pedimented entrance and corner bay. It also retains perforated barge boards and a decorative false balcony. Vinyl siding covers surface patterns, however, and windows have been replaced albeit with some sympathy to the character of the house.
