Subjects of Lobbying | The Downtown Seattle Association represents the property owners, businesses, residents, and non-profits of downtown Seattle. Its mission is to create a healthy, safe and vibrant downtown. DSA meets with elected officials, department staff, and City Councilmembers to represent downtown continuants, educate leaders on downtown issues, and advocate for a vibrant downtown in three core areas: urban experience, transportation & access, and economic competitiveness. The exact issues evolve with the needs of downtown and the work of local government. There is no compensation paid for specific advocacy or lobbying on any one issue. Instead, advocating for anything that benefits the health of downtown is a function of my position as the Director of Built Environment.
