City Council District 5
Ann Davison Sattler : attorney, arbitrator, mom, teacher, community champion. Ann has lived in Seattle for 23 years and began working with the Seattle SuperSonics in 1996. After working with the Sonics, she became an attorney and now raises her two children in D5 as a small business owner. She taught English in Thailand and now teaches international business law at the UW Continuum College. She also worked as a caseworker in the U.S. House of Representatives to resolve constituents’ problems.
An advocate for those in need : From volunteering with individuals transitioning out of incarceration, leading local environmental clean-ups, working with the UN in a Cambodian refugee camp, tutoring at our local Central Area Youth Association, serving as VP of Recreational Development for the Seattle Youth Soccer Association, along with spearheading efforts raising $200,000 for Seattle Public Schools, Ann has proven her honest dedication to change communities.
Top 3 Priorities : These public-spirited causes drove Ann to take civic action in Seattle, focusing on issues that have been neglected by our current council:
Homelessness & Housing
Public Safety
Addiction Prevention & Recovery
Good steward of tax dollars : Ann will redirect city dollars towards effective measures, like increasing access to underfunded addiction treatment, shortening wait times for detox beds instead of funding drug injection sites, and focusing on emergency responses to homelessness.
Seattle needs to be a safe place to live and work: Ann’s dedicated to rectifying Seattle’s criminal justice system. She’s seen city leadership idle during public outcry for safety improvements. Ann will fulfill city leadership’s obligation to residents, ensuring victims are heard and respected, with appropriate action taken regarding safety.
Change on the Council : Ann listens and is prepared to be a voice for forgotten neighborhoods. She’s proactively met with leaders of neighboring cities to discuss regional responses to issues where there’s been none. It’s time for change on the Seattle City Council. For residents facing neglectful leadership in D5, Ann will bring responsiveness, addressing our urgent problems head-on. Ann’s ready and passionate about making these changes together, for the city we know and love.
Bringing people together to get things done . You may have seen Ann in your neighborhood in her Sonics gear, passed a sign on your block or met her at your front door. Ann’s out in the community. Ready to listen. Ready to do better for District 5.
A vote for Ann is a vote for change!
