Historic Name: Unknown Common Name:

In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).
This house retains enough integrity to illustrate the distinctive characteristics of a vernacular interpretation of the Queen Anne style. It is importatn because it enhances our knowledge of vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle and because it contributes to the historic streetscape. This house does not seem to appear on the 1893 Sanborn Map, but it does appear in a well-developed block on the 1904-1905 Sanborn. West and Wheeler bought this proerpty in 1935.
This one story 24' x 41' frame cottage is a traditional hipped roof, with center chimney, vernacular form stylized by Queen Anne details. A cutaway bay projects to the front and has a gable roof. The inset porch is supported by turned posts and has simple square spindle balustrade. Wooden shingles were installed over the original clapboard siding before 1958. An interesting ca. 1920 garage is burrowed under the house beneath the bay.
