Summary for 6731 ELLIS AVE / Parcel ID / Inv # 0

Historic Name: M. M. West House Common Name:
Style: Arts & Crafts - Craftsman Neighborhood: Georgetown
Built By: Year Built: 1921

Based on field work conducted in September 2014, this historic property retains its relationship to the streetscape, historic building form and a sufficient amount of exterior historic building fabric (design features, cladding and/or window sash/openings) to contribute to the distinct character of the Georgetown neighborhood.

This is an altered but relatively intact historic property that may possess some limited architectural and/or historic significance. Due to its construction date (age), design character and/or condition limited historical research has been undertaken regarding this property. This property exhibits some substantive changes to the exterior appearance since it was identified in the 1997 HRI project: historic window sash has either been replaced or is visually obscured by large vinyl storm windows.

Craftsman style bungalow with narrow clapboard cladding, gable roof, composition roofing, and a poured concrete foundation. Typical bungalow roof details (knee braces and wide overhanging eaves). The building has double-hung sash with vertically divided upper sash panels, wide bargeboards, offset front porch, and a red brick chimney.
