This house embodies the distinctive characteristics of the Dutch Colonial Revival style. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of the style. In this case it is as a clear predecessor of the Shingle style. It also enhances our knowledge of residential development in Seattle. This house appears in the 1904-1905 Sanborn.
This handsome Dutch Colonial Revival house is 21' x 42' frame dwelling with wood shingle and clapboard siding. It has a front-facing gambrel roof. A trio of one over one double hung windows in the gambrel has a small arched decorative window to each side. The full width porch is inset under main roofline and is supported by slender classical columns. Balustrade is composed of turned spindles. A decorative leaded glass window is installed to the left of the asymmetrical entrance.
