This is an example of the American foursquare type in late Queen Anne - Free Classic garb with a slight Italianate or Spanish Colonial flavor. The structure’s design integrity has been significantly compromised by alterations to the roof and front porch and the replacement of most of the windows with aluminum units.

This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property.

King County GIS Center Property Report (; accessed August 18, 2008)

King County Property Record Card (c. 1938-1972) Washington State Archives

This is a two story, clapboard clad, wood frame single-family residence on a concrete foundation, over a full basement. The rectangular plan is capped by a hip roof with extensive overhangs and enclosed soffits.

The windows and doors are characterized by patterns and details customarily associated with Queen Anne design.

This house was built in 1906 according to the King County Property Record Card and the King County GIS Center Property Report.

The original full width porch has been much reduced in size. A shed roofed porch/patio cover has been added at the back of the house. The concrete foundation may have been modified to raise the house and provide a full height basement. Most of the windows have been replaced with aluminum units.
The roofline was significantly altered with the removal of the original partial width front facing gable. The entry steps appear to have been rebuilt and stair railings have been added.
