Summary for 903 14TH AVE / Parcel ID 2254501160 / Inv # 0

Historic Name: Common Name:
Style: American Foursquare, Queen Anne Neighborhood: First Hill
Built By: Year Built: 1903
This is a fairly good example of an American Foursquare residence with residual Queen Anne elements, although the structure’s design integrity has been somewhat compromised by the use of composition “brick” siding.

This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property; however, Frank A. Morey apparently owned the house when it was surveyed in 1937. It appears the structure was acquired by Alma Burns in 1951. The current owners, Joseph W. and Gloria J. Burns, purchased the property from Alma Cleasby in 1999.
