This house combines elements from a number of styles current in the early years of the 20th Century, including window and porch details associated with the Queen Anne Free Classic and Shingle styles and the horizontal massing, siding organization and roof detailing typical of Prairie architecture. The house exhibits a high degree of design integrity despite some very early additions and porch enclosures.

This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property; however, the current owners acquired the property in 2007 from Durlin and Carol Hickok. The Hickoks purchased the house from Steven and Judith Clifford in 1994.
