King County Property Record Card (c. 1938-1972) Washington State Archives

King County Assessor Property Characteristics Report (; accessed October 1, 2007)

This is a two-and-a-half story, clapboard, drop siding and shingle clad, wood frame single-family residence on a brick foundation, over a full basement. The steep roof with numerous overlapping, front facing gables and intersecting cross gables, the enclosed soffits with returns, the cutaway bay windows with corner bracketing, the arch top windows and vents in the gables, and the classical columns at the entry porch are all elements customarily associated with the “free classic” variation of the Queen Anne style. However, the vertical and horizontal banding, and the mixed and patterned cladding, are more often associated with the contemporaneous Victorian era Stick style. An oval fanlight above the entry adds a suggestion of colonial detailing.

The house was built in 1890 (King County Property Record Card; the King County Assessor Property Characteristics Report gives the date as 1900). The building may have been remodeled in 1910 (King County Property Record Card). Some of the windows have recently been replaced with vinyl or aluminum double hung units utilizing false divided lights in the upper sash.
