Significance
This house and its landscaping contribute to our knowledge of the architectural and residential development of Seattle and it contributes to the hisotric streetscape. It is also a good example of a local interpretation of the Craftsman style. Further evaluation of this house may yield informaiton regarding the rich ethnic heritage of this historically Japanese/American and Italian/American neighborhood.
 
Appearance
This is a one and 1/2 story gable front cottage with two story gable projection to the south. The house has a wrap-around porch with gable entrance and large paneled wooden columns, which rest on battered piers. The open eaves are decorated with knee braces. Windows are one over one double hung wooden sash and frame. Of particular interest are landscape features, which include a Japanese fence on the 18th Avenue South façade.
