Significance
In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).
This house is important for its association with Charles H. Harvey, pioneer African American and noted Seattle buiding contractor. It is also important because it enhances our knowledge of residential devleopment in Seattle and the history of the African American Community. This house and its setting, a prominent corner, contribute to the historic streetscape. (Related property - 311 29th Avenue East). Harvey's original home ca. 1905 was located to the immedciate north of this house. It was torn down in 1939. Harvey's son, George was later occupant of this house. Reference: Seattle City Directories 1900-1935.
 
Appearance
This house is a late period bungalow with broad side gabled roof, narrow beveled siding, and shallow open eave. It has a unique asymmetrical gable porch supported by square wooden columns. There is an exterior brick chimney on the southern elevation adjacent to a shallow square bay. The hay has a shed roof.
