Summary for 6309 ELLIS AVE / Parcel ID / Inv # 0

Historic Name: Unknown Common Name:
Style: Vernacular Neighborhood: Georgetown
Built By: Year Built:

Based on field work conducted in September 2014, this historic property retains its relationship to the streetscape, historic building form and a sufficient amount of exterior historic building fabric (design features, cladding and/or window sash/openings) to contribute to the distinct character of the Georgetown neighborhood.

This is a slightly altered and relatively intact historic property that may possess some limited architectural and/or historic significance. Due to project contraints, its construction date (age), design character and/or condition no historical research has been undertaken regarding this property. This property is difficult to view but appears to exhibit no substantive changes to the exterior appearance since it was identified in the 1997 HRI project.

Residential vernacular single family building with drop siding, hip roof, and composition roofing. The building has a central red brick chimney, eave and corner boards, and double-hung one-over-one sash. Front façade has a bay window with a gable roof. There may have been a diamond window under the gable that was covered. Scalloped shingles in gable were added. The original porch may have been enclosed.
