King County has approval from the State Department of Health to allow all private construction activities that are low-risk and adhere to strict COVID 19 Job site Requirements. The City of Seattle has issued requirements for construction projects seeking inspections. The City WILL NOT INSPECT any site that does not follow these requirements.
Summary: The conversion of apartments to condominiums is governed both by Washington state law and by Seattle ordinance. State law grants tenants the right to buy their own units and assures that all buyers are informed of the responsibilities and costs they incur when they purchase a condominium. State law also provides that tenants receive a notice of condominium conversion at least 120 days before they can be required to move.
