SDCI Closures, Service Updates, and Inspection Requirements

SDCI customer service areas remain closed until further notice and continue offering services online. King County has approval from the State Department of Health to allow all private construction activities that are low-risk and adhere to strict COVID 19 Job site Requirements. The City of Seattle has issued requirements for construction projects seeking inspections. The City WILL NOT INSPECT any site that does not follow these requirements.

Summary: Sustainability was defined by the World Commission on Environment and Development in 1987 as "meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Building sustainably means using building methods and materials that promote environmental quality, economic vitality, and social benefit through the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and deconstruction of the built environment. Sustainable building attempts to consider the environmental, economic, and social impacts of a construction project as an integrated whole rather than looking at these areas individually.
